Are you a veterinary practice owner struggling to find qualified veterinarians to fill your openings?
Are you afraid your long-term vacancy is affecting staff morale?
Are you afraid that your key staff members may quit?
Hi, I’m Victoria Lee Travis. As a veterinarian recruiter I’ve been hearing these concerns for over 19 years. One doctor commented that I was more like a partner and a coach then a recruiter.
I’m Often Asked How I Find Such Great Veterinarians
My funny answer is, ‘if I tell you I’ll have to kill you.’ But my serious answers are a couple:
- I have a team of experts who help find the nooks and crannies within the Internet to find strong candidates, such as on Facebook and LinkedIn.
- Once I know the qualities characteristics and attributes that you’re looking for then I can create a Strategic Attraction Plan™ to find the perfect veterinarian for your practice.
One of my clients, who’s been a practice owner for 37 years, said how easy it was to work with me — and he admits to being ‘not easy to please.’ I also found him the perfect veterinarian.
I always thought veterinarian recruiters were just salespeople!
I’ve been a veterinarian and practice owner for 37 years. I demand professionalism and excellence in my practice and in myself. Some people can find me difficult to work with.
Not Victoria.
She ‘grilled me’ by asking probing question of what I wanted/needed in a veterinarian for my practice. It was the most comprehensive questioning I had ever had; it gave me confidence that she would find the right fit. And she did!! She is a true professional. She is passionate about connecting the right veterinarian to the practice.
I strongly recommend her as a veterinary recruiter. — Walter Gregg
Why I’m Different
I’m a little different from most veterinarian recruiters because I’m also a mentor who has been helping veterinarians find satisfying and fulfilling jobs for the past 16 years — jobs that increase their skills, and allow them to develop professionally, and personally, too.
This seems to be my calling and I love it.
As a certified career coach, I bring additional tools that make your search easier and more effortless.
My services are free to the candidate as well.
More Than A Job
Support for veterinarian candidates
Most veterinarians tell me they “hate bragging on themselves.” They often omit many of their strengths that prospective employers need to see, to be certain they are making the best choice.
As a mentor, I am able to help veterinary candidates present themselves professionally, fully, and authentically, so they land a job that positively impacts their life and their community, too.
Victoria, you were very helpful to me! You kept me focused on my skills and not my age which, as you know, was a real tough hurdle. Our meetings were always positive and I learned a lot. Life had certainly changed for a fellow who hadn’t been through a job search in over 30 years. I looked forward to our discussions and your candid appraisals of my thoughts and efforts. I will always be thankful. — David F.
I Also Recruit Veterinary Hospital Managers, Administrators and Directors
As a former hospital administrator, I know the importance of assembling a strong team with the right team members.
In addition, I support my hospital clients and veterinarians with 3 months of free coaching after they are hired.
Coaching assures the successful integration of the new veterinarian into the practice. This Veterinarian Retention Program has had great success in retention of veterinarians.
What Weight Lifting Taught Me About Recruiting
As a recreational Olympic weight lifter and golfer, my coaches taught me there is a big difference between my sticking point and my stopping point. This lesson came one day when I was bench pressing a personal best weight and my arms began to quiver. I wanted to give up! My coach said, “The sticking point is not the stopping point. Pushing beyond the sticking point is how you grow more strength.”
I thought this was a great parable for my life. Through my vet recruiting and coaching practices, I help people push through their own sticking points.
You sure have a knack for cutting to the chase and providing the right kind of support and encouragement to me. What a blessing you have been in my life. I am truly grateful! Love: Judie
